PAUL DEGALLERIE
PAUL DEGALLERIE
Biography
DJ Paul Degallerie is a London-born DJ, producer, songwriter, and writer whose career spans more than four decades. Raised in Canning Town, East London, Paul began DJing in 1982, saving his pocket money at just 14 to buy his first pair of turntables. Breaking beats quickly became his passion, and music proved both a creative outlet and a guiding force during his formative years.
Deeply influenced by soul, funk, jazz, and progressive Black music, Paul’s early inspirations include James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, Miles Davis, Roy Ayers, Earth, Wind & Fire, Funkadelic, Prince, and Stevie Wonder. Music was embedded in his upbringing—his father, Clinton George Jackson, ran a sound system from the 1960s through to the late 1980s—making Paul’s path into DJ culture almost inevitable.
Paul has played at family parties, school discos, clubs, and international stages, touring with artists including Andrea Bocelli, Heather Headley, Erik Rico, and Jean‑Paul Maunick of the legendary band Incognito.
Today, Paul is a passionate champion of underground and obscure music, curating sets that blend Broken Beat, Nu-Jazz, Hip-Hop, Roots Reggae, Lovers Rock, Ska, Soul, Funk, Boogie, and Electro. His mission is simple: to introduce listeners to music beyond the mainstream and keep soulful, forward-thinking sounds alive.
Paul currently hosts the Twisted Soul Project radio show on LWR Radio, sharing his deep musical knowledge and carefully selected sounds with a global audience.
