LADY SPICE

That’s how Sharon aka LadySpice describes herself as a DJ.  With over 10 year’s experience, she is never afraid to go too deep, her emotive, musical selections are her own therapy.  Having grown up on her family’s eclectic combination of funk, Soul, R’n’B, Reggae, Roots, Soca, Dancehall, and Pop music Sharon ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influences.  Today, this translates into sets where she infuses together all the pieces of this music that she loves best.

Her first gigs were parties for friends and family. She also had a 5-year residency at a local social club which she initially did for free as it was community-based and helped with establishing a reputation. Eventually, through word-of-mouth referrals, she became a regular at larger community and social events. This led to more exposure and was the gateway to better-paying private events.

Though Sharon loves playing in nightclubs and special events her love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. She has found plenty of ways to express herself creatively. She is a facilitator, event planner, and artist, and it was her passion for creativity that led her to develop expressive courses and a ‘Sheejay’ course to empower more women to get into the art of DJing; helping herself and others become better DJs through passion and purpose. She also runs her own radio station, writes poetry, is a supplier of homemade goods, i.e. cakes, bakes, and wine, and in 2019 launched a probiotic health drink called Gut Instinx!
